LAMFT RENEWAL INFORMATION- The LAMFT renewal deadline was January 31, 2012, for LAMFTs whose license expired on that date. Online & paper renewals must now pay a $50 late fee. RENEW ONLINE

The Minnesota Department of Human Services has implemented changes to its outpatient mental health rules (Rule 47). These changes may impact the practice of LAMFTs, LMFTs and MFT graduate students completing practicum or internship experiences. - Effective February 18, 2011, the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy (BMFT) rescinds its policy of requiring Supervision Plans be filed with the Board. Post-graduate supervised experience candidates for licensure no longer need complete, maintain, or file a Supervision Plan. Candidates must still maintain logs of all post-graduate supervised experience hours as part of their permanent records. Candidates must also still comply with all requirements governing post-graduate supervised experience, including the requirement that all direct client contact hours be completed under the supervision of a Minnesota BMFT-approved supervisor. Post-graduate licensure candidates and Board-approved supervisors are encouraged to review the rules governing supervised experience found at Minnesota Rules 5300.0150 & 5300.0170.These rules can be accessed through the Board’s website at https://www.revisor.mn.gov/rules/?id=5300.
